  • Cleaning a Hottop Roaster

The best cleaner to use to get rid of crud that, if kept unclean, can taint and affect your roast etc is called Urnex 'Cafiza' and easily removes those brown stubborn layers after a short soak! Be sure to pay particular attention to the rear temperature sensor, as this can get stained. If cleaning inside the drum, be sure not to not drip cleaning fluid around electrical wires!

For a thorough cleaning remove the following:
    -All 'loose' parts
    rear filter
    chaff tray
    bean loading door
    cooling tray
heat protection grills if so equipped
    -front cover
    -bearing plate
    -drum
-You may also wish to remove the top filter once a year or so. Once a year I go quite a bit further. I also remove the Main Fan, Rear Cover, and Top Cover (the entire stainless steel top).
